Today we drove our leased car to the city of Varenna which is a coastal city next to Lake Como. It is thought by some, that Lake Como is one of the most beautiful places in the world. We visited in November on a rainy day. However, its beauty was still spectacular! I loved the colorful buildings. When we arrived in Varenna we were able to buy 6 tickets to board the ferry for 90 euros. Our youngest two children were free. These ferry tickets would let us ride to and from the Cities of Varenna, Bellagio and Menaggio. These cities all being about 15-20 minutes apart by ferry. We ended up staying the longest at the city of Bellagio, where we ate delicious pizza and walled up some meandering steps with shops along the sides of the steps. November is off season, so most of these shops were closed, which was perfectly okay with us. We enjoyed the scenery, the narrow streets, the beautifully colored buildings and the tasty food.
